giveaway day!

it's that time again! sewmamasew's giveaway day! i decided to give away one of my quilted notebooks. this one is made of a variety of fabrics, including some polka dot linen and a garden print.  the inside has a bit of patchwork going on too! it holds a 5x7 notebook, and I use mine to keep track of my grocery list and coupons. close it up with the shiny black button. i am making these for teacher gifts this year.  i hope you like it!

to enter, just leave me a comment.  that's it.  i would love to know what book you're reading, or what your favorite teacher gift is, but any comment will do!  please make sure i have a way to contact you if you win.  i will leave the giveaway open until saturday morning, and then i will randomly generate a number.

thanks for coming by to see me!   now, off to try to win some prizes myself...

Right now, I'm not really reading anything other than my pregnancy week by week book. I'm due in less than 5 weeks with baby #2 and baby #1 is only 14 months old. Finding time to read doesn't happen since I'm finishing up Christmas presents and trying to get a few more quilts and projects in before the baby arrives and I have NO time!! :)

I am reading "airframe" by Michael Crichton right now, but mostly because I am not allowing myself to buy any new books until I have read all of the ones on our shelf, most of which happen to be my husbands from back in the day... I would love to win!

You know, I'm a horrible person, but, when I was a teacher, my favorite gift was from a girl who brought us Starbucks gift cards twice a year (I *never* go to Starbucks, it's so expensive, and I normally drink only black coffee, which I don't like there, but it's so delightful to get something crazy there once in a while -- or a sandwich on the run in NYC, which I also did). Of course, that was high school; meaningful and make-you-tear-up gifts seem to be only for lower schoolers. I've heard all sorts of great "and he made it for me all by himself!" stories from elementary school teachers.

On the giving side, my mother always bought Heifer Project things in the teachers' names and gave them the card saying so. I liked that, too.

Very cute notebook...

What am I reading? Well, when I last left off and had "freetime" where I wasn't sewing, drawing, typing, editing, photographing, cleaning...ahh, it was a mystery by Nevada Barr about, a park ranger. Being a former ranger - I love her books but I haven't made it past page 2 in over 4 months.

Soon...I have 2 more days before my deadlines for the year are D.O.N.E!
