giveaway time!! CLOSED AT NOON CST

i was so happy to see that sewmamasew was having giveaway day again!  if you've been reading here for awhile, you know that i have been really lucky in the past, and i always try to participate with a giveaway of my own.

so here's what's up for grabs...

a copy of star struck quilts by barbara h. cline,(it's got some beauties in it!)

a fat quarter of my beloved katie jump rope fabric,

this adorable mini quilt (8" x 8") i bought at the handmade holidays craft show,

and a jar of my homemade jalepeno pepper jelly.  this is a staple for my holiday entertaining, just pour over cream cheese and serve with crackers.  but i may step it up a bit this year, with this fab recipe for a baked brie.

to enter, please leave me a comment telling me what holiday appetizer you rely on.  is it knorr spinach dip?  crescent wrapped lil smokies?  or something fancier, like a baked brie? (i'm not even sure where i'd buy a wheel of brie!)  i need to step up my game a bit this christmas, and could use some new ideas.

if you'd like an extra entry, you can become a follower right over there on the left.  and leave me another comment telling me you did.  or just let me know if you are already a follower. that's 2 possible entries per person.

the giveaway will be open until friday, december 17th at noon kansas time.  i will randomly choose a winner from all the comments, and ship your goodies no later than december 20th.  promise.  oh, and US shipping only, please.

thanks a bunch for stopping by.

I'd love to win this one!! Appitizers?? How about a crab dip.

First add a little milk to an eight ounce package of cream cheese. Spread out on plate. On top add enough cocktail sauce to cover the cream cheese. On top put a can of crab meat. Serve with crackers -- simple but yummy!!

Shana said...

Appetizers? Well, I don't really host much but there is a roll up I get from the grocery store when I do. I don't remember the name of it, but it's prosciutto, mozzarella all rolled up in a log you slice and put on crackers. yummo

Great giveaway, who doesn't just love Katie jump rope! Ever since I discovered the Pepper and Onion relish at Harry and David's, my family has depended on me to bring it to ALL get togethers. Just blend the relish with cream cheese and you get the most awesome dip. It's very much like pepper jelly over cream cheese, tasty! I would love to try your jelly!

BBQed Lil Smokies
Hot crab dip
Summer sausage, cheese, cracker platter

I've made baked brie with apple compote (recipe from Williams Sonoma) for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day *and* New Year's Eve for the past 6 or 7 years. Everyone loves it! And I love having it as leftovers the next day :)
Our family is very appetizer-y, most of our parties have heavy hors d'ouerves and not a sit down dinner, so there are plenty more I could tell you about, but that brie is my very favorite.

merlinthecat said...

I always make cream cheese crab dip and deviled ham dip. The crab dip is just a block of cream cheese, can of crab, and green onion, chop onion, drain crab, mix. Great on club crackers. The deviled ham is just a block of cream cheese and a can of deviled ham, just mix and serve with little baby rye bread!

Being gluten intolerant makes the holiday cooking a bit challenging and we love Onion dip. Just fry up two onions (try not to cry) in a tiny amount of butter until they burn (ok, most people would just carmelize). Add a tablespoon of water to deglaze the pan. let cool and mix with a large container of fat free greek yogurt. Best onion dip and really easy, with zero fat, zero gluten, lots of yumminess.
Happy holidays!
