charming travelers

lookie what i found in my mailbox yesterday!

these came from my friend sara's blog, growing stitches, and now i'm the next stop of from blank pages charming travelers swap!  diane's having two great giveaways over there, both ending 9/5, so hurry over to enter!

so, what is a traveling charm swap?

basically, i will mail whomever wins a package containing 56 5" charm squares.  then you choose which charms to keep, and replace them with yummy squares from your own stash.  nothing ugly or low quality either - let's share the really good stuff!  then, host your own giveaway on your blog, mailing them on to the next winner!  we even can track where they've been on the map over at from blank pages.

here's what i was choosing from:

and here's a little peek at a couple i'm putting back in:

want to win?  here's a quick recap of the rules:
  • winners must be active bloggers
  • you must reside in the US or Canada - and you must be willing to ship to either country to enter.
  • before sending the charm pack off to the next winner, there must be 56 - 5" x 5" squares of fabric inside - please no yucky fabrics
  • to help keep the map updated, winners will fill out the quick and easy form to let me know where you are!
  • if the charm pack arrives full of unwanted charms, let me know and we'll clear it out and fill it back up with some more beautiful fabrics!
remember - don't put in what you wouldn't take out, and let's have fun with this!

leave me a comment to enter - let's see, maybe tell me if you traveled somewhere fantastic this summer.  we had a staycation kind of summer, so i'd love to hear about some great vacation spots! and since our son woke up with chicken pox this morning (yes, he's been vaccinated!) it looks like we'll be staying close to home this holiday weekend as well.

i'll draw a winner on monday september 10th.  thanks for reading!!

NOW CLOSED.  winner is lethargic lass and i've sent her an email!

We traveled to New Orleans (which is a big deal for us because my husband HATES New Orleans!) We also traveled to Destin, Florida, sorry that is as exotic as we get around here! LOL

We went camping to two different state parks in Ohio and spent some time at Lake Erie! Nothing fancy but very fun and relaxing :)

We went to the zoo over the long weekend as our last summer outing. It was great! Baby animals are so cute!

Well we had a very active summer this year. I am from Northern British Columbia and we travelled completely across BC down to Vancouver, toured up and around the Okanagan, hit Quesnel and Barkerville (If you get the chance, Barkerville is an absolute MUST). Then a few days after arriving home we decided to spend a weekend in Grande Prairie, Alberta which for a city is lovely and fun to explore. (I am a small town girl lol)

I went to Ocean City over the summer. That was the extent of my traveling. While it wasn't a huge trip, it was very relaxing and a great time.

I traveled to Illinois to help my parent pack up their house and move to Texas to be near me!

We headed to Toronto for a long weekend in late spring/early summer. It was wonderful to be in a city and see, smell & hear it all--but the best part was getting back home to the peace & quiet of our small town.

I love going to southern BC for holiday, but our friends to down to Oregon and that looks pretty beautiful too!
So long as you're with your family, almost any place is a good vacation place.

My Mom and I went to Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan to meet up with my brother and his family who were down south from their usual home above the Arctic Circle :)

We had a staycation kind of summer too. Still hoping our weather holds so we can slip in a trip to the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia this month. Looking forward to hiking, camping and fresh fruit!

What a fun giveaway! We spent lots of this summer at softball all-star practice and tournaments, so our only big trip was 2 days at the beach for our 10-year anniversary AND we took the kids! Oh well, still fun. ;)
