pretty little charms project

once upon a time, there was a girl.  she had a lot of freckles.  and she knew that someday, she wanted to make a quilt.

one day at a rummage sale in kansas, she found a big bag of pretty little vintage charms.  someone had spent a lot of time cutting them out, by hand, using paper templates.  they were 3 inch charms of a lovely vintage floral.  and she fell in love with them.  and bought the entire bag.  and tucked it away for the day when she would learn to quilt.

that girl was me, and that day has come and gone.  i mean, i know how to quilt, but i have yet to imagine the quilt that i will make with all of those charms.  a nine patch? an irish chain? maybe...

meanwhile, for the last couple of years, i have been tucking a few charms into my swaps and etsy packages.  i love the idea that those charms are out there in the world, hopefully making somebody else happy too!  so if you've ever received these charms from me, and have made them into something pretty, please share it with me at my pretty little charms flickr group?  thanks in advance, and happy sewing!
